We work hard to make our school a happy and engaging environment for the children in our care; a place where we grow, play and learn safely together. We set high expectations in everything we do and strongly believe in the importance of the core skills of reading, writing, mathematics and communication

We believe that primary school education is an experience that all children should enjoy to the full. We therefore offer a broad and balanced curriculum. The multi-cultural dimension of our school community is another strength; we celebrate our many diverse backgrounds, helping our children to become positive and responsible citizens.

Thinking School

At New Horizons Primary we believe passionately in providing our students with the best foundations on which to build their academic and personal success. As part of this, we utilise a cognitive approach to education through Thinking Skills and Tools.

Tough Turtle

Meet Tough Turtle.  He is resilient and always tries his hardest in his learning. He perseveres and strives for accuracy.

Solver Snail

Meet Solver Snail.  She is resourceful and ready to learn in different ways.  She takes her time to think about predict and plan learning and makes links with what she already knows.  She imagines new possibilities and thinks creatively.

Reflective Ray

Meet Reflective Ray.  He is reflective and ready to revisit and edit his learning.  He knows what sort of learner he is and knows how he learns best.  Reflective Ray understands that feedback helps us to grow and that editing and refining is an important part of the learning process.

Collaborative Crab

Meet Collaborative Crab.  She is reciprocal and learns well in a team as well on her own.  She knows how to be flexible and to compromise and harmonise when working together.
