Children across New Horizons Primary School have enjoyed being creative by designing posters to promote the importance of good attendance.

The school recently held a competition to produce a poster that raises awareness about why attending school every day matters.

Classes had conversations about consistently good attendance, with children saying that being at school and on time each day allows them to understand what is happening in lessons, as well as being an opportunity to have fun with friends.

Congratulations to Jannat, Hailey, and Evelyn, all from Year 6 and pictures, for being the top three winners of the poster competition.

Their designs have been copied and printed many times, and they will be proudly displayed across the school for the community to see.

Mrs. T. Powell, the Attendance Improvement Coordinator at New Horizons, said: “It has been brilliant to see so many children engaged in this poster competition and learning about why having good attendance and being on time matter.

“We saw so many posters from children and classes that were lovely and vibrant, so it was a tough decision to pick the winners, but everyone involved has done themselves proud. Congratulations to the three girls in Year 6 for winning, who will have their posters on the walls in our classrooms.”
